Mosin Nagant 91/30

I finally got a Mosin I like. It has the brightest bore I have seen in a long time. Paid to much for it in my estimation, But it’s mine now. I’ll have to post about it some more after I have had it on the range.  It is a 1939 vintage Tula, looks to be a arsenal refurb.  I picked up the new sling and cleaning kit and oiler bottle from Amazon, along with some snap caps for it. Free manuals can be found here. (http://www.jgsales.com/free-manuals-a-78.html)  I also added a rubber stock extension / recoil pad. It has already had some trigger work, so no worries there. I’ll be looking for some other accessories to add in there near future.                                                                                                                       More Info: ( http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinM9130S.htm )    ( http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinMarks01.htm ) ( http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinMarks04.htm ) ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosin%E2%80%93Nagant ) Cut and paste links into a new browser window.                                                   There is a lot to know about these type rifles. I, of course love the history of it all.

  1. Sixbears says:

They are impressive weapons -even more so if you load them with bullets.

  2. my worry atm is why I found that gun up on the mountain. Looks like someone traded it in after having a trigger job on it. Most shooters can’t hit anything with these type rifles. there’s no counter bore, has bright rifling. crown is good, head space checks. so I has to go git some ammo for it, and give it a thorough work out on the range. If anywhere near accurate, it will make a dandy deer slayer.
